Job summary

Rodericks Dental Partners Yeovil Practice is offering an Apprentice Dental Nurse position at Yeovil Dental Practice, 10 Sherborne Road, BA21 4HA. You will train to become a qualified dental nurse while supporting clinicians and maintaining high hygiene standards in a busy clinic.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, structured onboarding, and opportunities across the UK’s network of practices, with a friendly team and professional development to help you progress in your dental nursing career.

Responsibilities

• Support dentists during clinical procedures.
• Prepare, sterilise, and maintain instruments and equipment.
• Help keep treatment areas clean and organised to meet hygiene standards.
• Provide reassurance and support to patients before, during, and after treatment.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Participate in training sessions and development activities.

Yeovil Dental Highlights

• 6 surgeries computerised with Dentally software
• Specialising in Implants
• Practice Manager- Non clinical but worked in have 15+ yrs experience in dental practices. CQC registered, financial/commercial background.
• 2 train stations within the town. 1 direct to Waterloo. Bus station ¼ mile away. Good bus links. 40 mins from M5 (at Taunton), 15mins from A303
• No onsite parking but local car park nearby
• Small town near Bristol, strong community

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support dentists during clinical procedures
• Prepare, sterilise, and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Help keep treatment areas clean and organised to meet strict hygiene standards
• Provide reassurance and support to patients before, during, and after treatment
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Complete coursework and assessments as part of your dental nursing qualification
• Participate fully in training sessions and development activities

Skills And Attributes We’re Looking For

• A genuine interest in healthcare and patient care
• Friendly, caring, and approachable personality
• Comfortable working in a clinical environment, including procedures where you may see blood or surgical treatments
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
• An understanding that you will be on your feet throughout the day!
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are desirable but not essential – enthusiasm and dedication matter most !
