Job summary

Restaurant Associates in Bristol is seeking an Apprentice Commis Chef to join our culinary team across multiple venues and events. You will learn the craft with expert chefs, develop skills through a structured programme, and have a guaranteed role at the programme’s end within the culinary space.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends across four core venues. You will support cafs, large events, and banqueting operations, maintain high hygiene standards, and progress under

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year's previous experience in a food space environment (kitchen porter, kitchen assistant etc.) in a quality-focused kitchen.
  • A passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and beautifully crafted dishes.
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to high standards.
  • Team player with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Ambition to progress their culinary career under the leadership of our head chef.
  • A real passion for food and food quality.

Responsibilities

  • Support the culinary function across the full BCC Core Venues contract.
  • Work across cafs, events and banqueting operations, including large scale events.
  • Prepare, cook and present food to the required standard.
  • Support food service during busy service periods.
  • Ensure all kitchens and food preparation areas are clean and well maintained at all times.
  • Be fully compliant with all HSE, food safety and commercial policies.
  • Deliver food standards in line with brand and sustainability requirements.
  • Work closely with the wider kitchen team to support daily operations.
  • Act as a positive role model within the kitchen.

Job description

We are looking for a passionate and committed individual with a keen interest in food to join us as an Apprentice Commis Chef in our culinary team across our Bristol Venues. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a varied and fast paced contract, supporting caf s, large scale events and banqueting operations while continuing to develop your career within a supportive food focused environment. You will be given full support to learn the craft from some of the most talented culinary individuals in the industry. This role will be a structured apprenticeship that will lead to a recognised industry qualification as well as a guaranteed role at the end of the programme within the culinary space. This role requires flexibility, as you will work across all four core venues as required, including evenings and weekends.,
