Job description

The role

As a Vehicle Technician - Apprenticeship Coach, you’ll have a unique role that contributes to national security by supporting the equipment used by the British Army. This includes managing a fleet of over 50,000 vehicles, from quad bikes and generators to main battle tanks and weapons ranging from pistols to cannons.

Daily, you’ll visit vehicle mechanic learners in their workplaces, using your vocational experience to deliver training, coaching, assessing, and supporting them to complete their apprenticeships.

• Support, motivate, and coach all learners through their apprenticeship programs, ensuring timely completion of all components while meeting requirements from awarding organizations, ESFA, and Ofsted.
• Monitor and review learners’ progress in line with customer expectations.
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and within deadlines.
• Provide portfolio-building advice and guidance based on program requirements.
• Record, plan, and track individual learner progress following reporting procedures.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, fully remote with travel to sites in Tidworth, Lyneham, Warminster, Colerne, Larkhill, Bulford, and Wiltshire. Essential experience for the Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship Coach

• Extensive experience in vehicle mechanics.
• Good understanding of work-based learning programs.
• Previous experience in the defense sector, ideally within the army (desired but not essential).

Qualifications

• Relevant industry qualification (minimum Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanics).
• Maths and English GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent).

Security Clearance
