Job Description

What does an Apprenticeship at Costain offer me?

There are a wide range of apprenticeships available, both in levels of qualification and length of study. At Costain, we offer various apprenticeships working on projects across the UK in sectors including nuclear, highways, rail, water, airports, tunnels, and with numerous partners and joint ventures.

The level and training provider for your apprenticeship will depend on your skills at interview. The Early Careers team will register you with a suitable provider who can support your qualification delivery. As an apprentice, you will work both on-site and off-site with your training provider.

You will be supported by your project line manager, the Early Careers Team, and your training provider, which may be a college, university, or independent training provider. You will have dedicated time for studies and on-site experience aligned with your apprenticeship goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of briefings
• Conduct site reporting and monitor site progress
• Perform site inspections and surveys
• Assist with monitoring safety and design compliance

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent (including English, Maths, Science) - Grade 9-4 or A*-C
• A Levels (including Maths and a science) - Grade B in Maths and B, C or above in science, or equivalent BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering with DDM or above
• Passionate, organized, creative, interested in technology, problem solver, team player, proficient with computers and Microsoft Office, numerate

Additional Requirements

• Security and medical clearances required
• Right to work documentation will be needed at interview
• Ability to travel to remote project sites
