Job summary

GTG Training Limited is recruiting an Apprentice Autocare Technician in Canada. You will train in a garage environment, learning vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, and major component overhauls while receiving ongoing assessments.

The Modern Apprenticeship Programme allows you to work full-time and earn while you learn, with block-release training weeks through GTG. GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science/Tech are required, and a proactive learner is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Training through GTG Wolverhampton with block release for Level 2 Autocare Technician or Level 3 MotorVehicleService and Maintenance Technician.

GTG Training are recruiting for an ApprenticeAutocare Technicianon behalf of an independent garage.This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry.

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time andearn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

As well as attending the training centre for week block release of training, regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.

Examples of the units covered are:

Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment

Inspection of light vehicles

Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components

Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines andcomponentfaults

Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety

Contributing to workplace good housekeeping

What will I learn?

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice’s workplace, which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

What qualifications or qualities arerequired?

GCSE Level or above in Maths, English and a Science or Technical subject or equivalent
