Job summary

FBR Construction Recruitment is seeking an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor for a respected regional building contractor covering central and southern England. Typical project values range from £1million to £5million, including commercial, showrooms, retail, pharmaceutical and care home schemes.

You will prepare tender/contract documents, Bills of Quantities, reports, and valuations, reporting to the commercial director. Training and support are offered on diversified projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years Quantity Surveying experience.
• Degree qualification preferred but not essential.
• Experience in traditional NM and Design & Build exposure is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tender and contract documents.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and cost plans.
• Manage risk and cost control.
• Allocate sub-contract works and track progress.
• Prepare accurate progress reports and valuations.
• Assist with payments and final accounts.

A respected regional building contractor with a rich pedigree of delivering hi-tech new build projects across central and southern England have identified a need for either an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor. Their portfolio includes work within commercial builds, car showrooms, retail, pharmaceutical and care homes, projects generally range in value from £1million to £5million.

Responsibilities

• Preparing Tender and Contract documents
• Preparing Bills of Quantities
• Risk Management and Cost Control
• Sub Contractor Work Allocation
• Preparing Accurate Progress Reports
• Completed Work Valuations and Payments

Key Experience and Requirements

• Ideally 3+ Years Quantity Surveying experience
• You will have experience of previously working within the same or similar role.
• Degree qualified (or moving towards professional membership) is preferable but not essential.
• Traditional new build and Design & Build exposure would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication/ team work capability.
• Computer literacy will also be essential.
• The role will be reporting to the commercial director.
