Biosecure ID Limited is seeking a Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Generalist, Customer-Facing, based in Macclesfield. The role spans bench work, systems support, and direct interaction with customers to deliver practical genetic analysis solutions.

You will develop low-cost assays and workflows, work with instrumentation and data pipelines, and iterate on solutions with a small, collaborative team. Open to recent MSc/MTech/PhD graduates with hands-on lab experience.

Qualifications

  • MSc/MTech/PhD in molecular biology or related field required.
  • Real bench experience with molecular biology techniques.
  • Comfort working across disciplines and with instrumentation, code or spreadsheets.
  • Track record of proposing and iterating on solutions rather than fixed playbooks.
  • Strong problem-solving under real constraints and collaborative mindset.
  • Genuine interest in customer-facing work and solving real problems for users.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate low-cost assays and lab workflows spanning forensic to diagnostic applications.
  • Build and troubleshoot instrumentation, automation, data pipelines, and related software/hardware.
  • Work directly with customers to translate problems into technical requirements and support deployment.
  • Prototype with limited resources, iterate quickly, and seek simple, affordable solutions.
  • Own the full arc from early bench work to customer-delivered solutions.
  • Document rigorously to ensure work is trusted, repeatable and portable.
