Job summary

Dex seeks a Deployed AI Engineer to integrate state-of-the-art AI into real-world defence systems. You will work directly with customer engineers, owning deployments end-to-end and tackling legacy systems rather than rewriting them.

You will integrate AI into operational platforms, collaborate with avionics teams, and demonstrate AI capabilities in simulations and live systems for customers and partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, software, or electrical engineering.
• Experience with legacy systems and a bias toward maintaining them.
• Strong programming in C++, Java, or Rust and scripting in Python or Bash.
• Experience navigating Linux environments and databases.
• Comfortable working on-site with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Integrate AI software into operational defence platforms.
• Collaborate with avionics engineers to map data structures and APIs in mission-control systems.
• Reverse-engineer databases, network protocols, and specs to build cloud adapters.
• Partner with product teams to formalise requirements, identify bugs, and ship features to end-users.
• Lead technology demonstrations, showcasing AI capabilities in simulations and live systems with customers and partners.
