Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Applied AI Engineer for Beneficial Deployments, Life Sciences. You will support nonprofits and research institutes using Claude to accelerate clinical trials and drug repurposing for rare diseases.

You will collaborate with engineers, scientists and clinicians, embedding AI in partner workflows, and building scalable, reusable infrastructure to improve trial design and evidence generation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, running or analysing clinical trials, or finding new uses for existing medicines.
• Experience with biomedical data: literature, omics, and real-world patient data.
• Strong engineering skills to take an LLM-powered tool from prototype to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, review and prioritise clinical trials using Claude; flag enrolment and operational risks.
• Build tools to find new uses for off-patent medicines from literature and patient data.
• Assemble evidence for partner decisions and design reusable infrastructure for adoption.
