Applications Specialist

Location: Nottingham, Clifton

We have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive Technology team as Applications Specialist.

As Applications Specialist, you will support, maintain, and develop NCHA's technology applications.

Key duties include:

  1. Managing the effective day-to-day operation and maintenance of NCHA's IT systems, including configuration and tuning of applications, databases, servers, and network services.
  2. Leading implementation of new technology applications and supporting project activities.
  3. Managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with colleagues across departments, including creating testing plans.
  4. Scheduling application upgrades and maintenance, coordinating with internal teams and third-party vendors.
  5. Facilitating communication between technology services and business teams, seeking feedback, and escalating issues.
  6. Producing and maintaining reports based on data requests to support frontline departments.
  7. Supporting system users and Technology Services team on core applications.
  8. Creating and maintaining documentation for software, systems, and processes.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, or relevant work experience. Knowledge of Microsoft server suite, maintenance, and application deployment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of modern computing principles, including Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
  • Recent experience in a customer-focused IT support environment, supporting core business applications.
  • Strong IT and literacy skills, problem-solving experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail. Experience with database configuration and reporting (SQL Server, SSRS).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, balancing project work and routine activities.
  • Desirable: experience with housing applications, mobile applications, and translating business needs into applications and reports.

Working Hours: 35 hours/week, flexible remote and office work, Monday - Friday.
