Morgan Ryder Associates seeks an Applications Engineering Manager in Dorking to lead technical design-for-manufacture, engage with customers and guide business growth in defence and advanced manufacturing.

You will translate complex customer requirements into manufacturable solutions, oversee engineering and manufacturing processes, and work directly with leadership to expand the company’s presence in UK defence supply chains.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and translate them into practical manufacturing solutions.
• Lead design-for-manufacture reviews across CNC machining, fabrication, sheet metal and electromechanical assembly.
• Build strong customer relationships and provide credible engineering advice during project development.
• Develop manufacturing strategies, evaluate risks, and prepare competitive quotations and proposals.
• Identify opportunities and support expansion into defence and other advanced manufacturing markets.
• Influence technical decisions and drive long-term capability development within the business.
