Job summary

AMETEK Inc. in Durham, United Kingdom, is seeking an Application Engineer (Proposals) to provide technical engineering expertise during the quotation process for Solartron ISA’s products in the energy sector.

You will review client specifications, size and select solutions, and prepare tender documentation. The role requires collaboration with sales, application engineers and operations, production of technical proposals, and mentoring of new engineers, with limited travel for clarifications and

Qualifications

Recognised Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
Proven engineering experience (10+ years).
Proficient with MS Office and sales management tools (e.g., Salesforce).

Responsibilities

Review client specifications and interpret requirements.
Evaluate process data to size and select products.
Generate gap analyses and develop custom designs when needed.
Prepare tender and contract review documentation for evaluations.
Provide pre- and post-contract engineering support and generate BOMs and procedures.
Serve as technical liaison between internal teams, suppliers and customers.
Produce quotation proposals from templates and configured cost sheets.
Travel occasionally for customer meetings.
Act as technical authority across product ranges and mentor new engineers.
