Job Description:

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a Sheffield-based manufacturer specializing in forgings, casting, and machining, seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join their team.

Based in Metrology, the successful candidate will lead in NPI and legacy products, ensuring consistency and accuracy in manufacturing components.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver Metrology aspects for Manufacturing Readiness for assigned programs, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule.
• Accountable for measurement system planning, development, and validation, including FAIR, PPAP, equipment selection, fixturing, CMM programs, gauges, and documentation.
• Research and justify new equipment to support product and program needs, planning execution within the program framework (CAPEX).
• Lead Metrology and Continuous Improvement activities, partnering with quality teams and design teams on FMEA inputs and outputs.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience.
• Experience in CMM programming (Zeiss Calypso / PCDMIS / Mcosmos) and process optimization.
• Understanding of manufacturing engineering fundamentals, GD&T, DFM/DFMA, and process documentation.
• Knowledge of NPPI, validation processes, and experience in medical or aerospace environments preferred.
• Basic lean or industrial engineering knowledge, including process flow and equipment layout.
• Experience in problem solving (8D, DMAIC) and driving root cause solutions.
• Experience in planning and executing manufacturing projects such as NPI, CAPEX, and product transfers.
