Job summary

Vectis Recruitment in the United Kingdom is seeking an Application Engineer to provide technical guidance on cutting tool applications and best practices, with a strong understanding of carbide tooling.

You will report on progress to the sales team and regional management, identify wear mechanisms and recommend solutions to maximise tool life, and collaborate with the team to meet customer requirements. Training and direction on tooling use will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with carbide cutting tools and best practices.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Problem solving and prioritising own time.
• Preferably time served engineer with automotive, aerospace or oil & gas exposure.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and expertise on cutting tool applications and best practise.
• Report on the progress of technical projects to the sales team and regional management.
• Identify wear mechanisms and recommend solutions to maximises use.
• Collaborate with the team to respond effectively to customer needs and requirements.
• Determine if tooling is being used correctly and identify wear and use issues.
• Collaborate with the team to meet customer requirements.
• Provide product training and direction.
