Overview

Applications Engineer / Automation Engineer / PLC Engineer required by a UK engineering company operating across industrial automation. This is a UK-wide role with a remote base and regular travel to customer sites, supporting complex automation projects across multiple industries.

The successful Applications Engineer will be responsible for PLC programming (Siemens or Rockwell/Allen-Bradley), commissioning variable speed drives, and delivering cloud control solutions. A background in motion control or rotating machinery will be particularly valued. Requirements

• Experience as an Applications, PLC, or Automation Engineer

• Strong understanding of drives, motors, and control panels
• Familiar with cloud platforms, IIoT, or digital monitoring
• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/BEng or similar)
• Willing to travel UK-wide (50%)
