Applications Engineer – Kettering – £40,000-£45,000 – Vision Systems & Sensors

We are seeking an Applications Engineer / Technical Support Engineer, passionate about innovation and technology, to join a leading global sensor and vision systems engineering company based in Kettering.

The ideal candidate will be technically oriented, eager to learn about new products and technologies, and possess a customer-focused approach. Experience working with automation products, including PLCs, vision systems, lasers, sensors, or related areas, is essential.

This is a fast-growing company offering a progressive role with potential to develop into a management position in the coming years.

The Package:

• Working hours – 8:30-17:00
• Bonus based on individual and company performance (circa £6,000)
• Pension scheme 3%
• 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service

The Role:

• Consulting with GB customers on applications and optimization
• Developing ideas and innovative concepts for customer applications
• Providing technical training for employees and customers
• Supporting customers during product commissioning
• Serving as a technical contact for the sales team
• Participating in exciting projects within the industrial automation industry
• Opportunity to develop your own ideas

Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent in electronics or electro/mechanical discipline
• 3 to 5 years of successful experience in a similar role
• Automation background and some PLC knowledge are advantageous
• Knowledge of vision processing and laser 2D/3D is a plus
• Strong technical understanding with a customer and solution-oriented approach
