The Institutional Data Platform (IDP) team within the ISG Data Solutions function has built a next-generation Data Fabric to address the evolving Business, Analytical, and Regulatory needs of Citi’s Markets business. This platform integrates disparate data sources for the Global Markets organization, enabling advanced analytics, client reporting, regulatory compliance, surveillance, supervisory reporting, and data science solutions. It also enhances data quality, reconciliation, entitlements, performance, and data management in accordance with regulatory standards. The Risk data program centralizes Risk data across Markets, establishing a single source for all Risk reporting and analytics, covering Market Risk, Credit Risk, Price Risk, and Counterparty Credit Risk.

This role is a senior management position as the Engineering Software Manager in Risk Data within the Institutional Data Platform. It will lead a global engineering team focusing on Price Risk Data initiatives to develop world-class cross-market analytics solutions with robust design, architecture, and adherence to best practices. The candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in enterprise application development using Java, database, SQL, and Big Data technologies, and collaborate with Front Office Risk, Risk Managers, and Business Stakeholders to manage requirements and scope.

Responsibilities:

• Lead efforts within the Risk Data team for the Institutional Data Platform across multiple business units.
• Deliver Price Risk Data initiatives and Capital reporting (GSIB) deliverables.
• Build strong relationships with global business stakeholders and ensure transparent project delivery.
• Identify and manage risks and issues, working with teams to mitigate and resolve them.
• Follow all Project Management and Engineering standards.
• Communicate regularly with senior management and business partners.
• Design system architecture, work with end-users, and improve deliverable quality.
• Manage changes with proper controls and documentation, including regulatory updates.
• Maintain disaster recovery plans and oversee testing and approvals.
• Implement best practices and ensure departmental transparency and consistency.
• Assess risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance and ethical standards.
• Focus on Production Stability and platform scalability, including cloud strategies.
• Communicate end-user impacts clearly.
• Hire, develop, and retain top talent; develop team vision and structure.
• Present team and project updates to senior leadership.

Knowledge / Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven enterprise application development experience, full-stack technologies.
• Strong architecture and hands-on experience with large-scale real-time solutions in Big Data and Cloud platforms.
• Deep understanding of Data architecture, software fundamentals, data structures, design patterns, and object-oriented principles.
• Experience in multi-tier application design, high-performance server-side components, performance tuning, low latency, multithreading, Java programming.
• Experience with high data volumes, in-memory databases, caching solutions.
• Leadership experience in building and managing global teams and delivering large projects.
• Experience in Financial Services technology, especially in Risk domains (Market/Credit Risk).
• Technical skills in real-time data engineering, Java/Scala, Microservices, Hadoop, Hive, Impala, NoSQL, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ.
• Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, and development skills.
