Job summary

Proactive Appointments is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer with live UKIC DV clearance for an on-site role in Gloucester, four days a week, initially for 6 months with potential extension. Candidates must understand networking, software architectures and data formats (JSON/XML/CSV).

Application Support Engineer - DV Cleared

Our client is urgently looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, initially for 6 months with a view to extend.

Please note, the role is OUTSIDE of IR35. You must hold live UKIC DV. The role is on-site 4 days per week in Gloucester.

Application Support Engineer - Key Skills:

• Must hold a live UKIC DV
• Understanding of networking and software architectures
• Understanding of structured text formats: JSON, XML, CSV

The below skills are nice to have:

• Exposure to programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and Go
• API definitions: Swagger/Open API 3
• Shell Scripting
• AWS or other cloud platforms' administration
• Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar roles
• Infrastructure as code and configuration management tools (eg Terraform, Ansible)
• CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Kubernetes - cloud or on-prem
