Job summary

A live UKIC DV is required for an Application Support Engineer role based in Gloucester, on-site 4 days per week. The role is outside IR35 and initially for 6 months, with potential extension.

The client seeks experience with networking, software architectures and structured data formats (JSON/XML/CSV). Nice-to-have skills include Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, Swagger/OpenAPI 3, shell scripting, cloud platforms (AWS), SRE/DevOps, IaC tools, CI/CD, monitoring and Kubernetes.

Application Support Engineer - DV Cleared

Our client is urgently looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, initially for 6 months with a view to extend.

Please note, the role is OUTSIDE of IR35. You must hold live UKIC DV. The role is on-site 4 days per week in Gloucester.

Application Support Engineer - Key Skills:

• Must hold a live UKIC DV
• Understanding of networking and software architectures
• Understanding of structured text formats: JSON, XML, CSV

The below skills are nice to have:

• Exposure to programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and Go
• API definitions: Swagger / Open API 3
• Shell scripting
• AWS or other cloud platforms' administration
• Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or similar roles
• Infrastructure as code and configuration management tools (e.g. Terraform,Ansible)
• CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
• Understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Kubernetes - cloud or on-prem
