Job summary

Wills Consultants is recruiting an experienced Application Support Engineer to join a technical team supporting complex software solutions within the logistics and warehouse automation sector. The role focuses on developing and supporting Java-based applications, providing 2nd level support, and leading investigations.

You will mentor junior developers, work with Project Managers and Service Account Managers, create documentation, and help drive system stability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ commercial software development experience.
• Strong experience with Java or another object-oriented language.
• Experience with Oracle/SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of Hibernate, JUnit, JMS and XML.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience mentoring or leading developers.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Logistics/warehouse automation experience is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
