Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a technically skilled pre-sales engineer to translate architectures into detailed technical specifications and client-ready proposals. The role involves preparing design documents, system diagrams (P&ID, layouts), and compliance materials reflecting the solution blueprint.

You will deliver workshops and technical sessions for internal teams and external partners, collaborating with Product Management, R&D, and Service/Field Engineers to ensure feasible handover from design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and relevant technical background.
• Experience in water treatment, industrial systems, or complex technical solutions.
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles (pre-sales, application engineering, technical support).
• Ability to translate architectures into detailed technical specifications.
• Experience preparing Technical documentation, System diagrams (P&ID, layouts), and compliance/regulatory documents.
• Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes and technical responses.
• Knowledge of water treatment solutions, industrial systems, or sustainability technologies.
• Understanding of relevant technical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Solution Architects, Product Management, R&D, Service/Field Engineers.
• Ability to validate feasibility and support handover from design to execution.
• Experience in matrix and international environments.
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for customers.
• Experience assembling and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems; knowledge of cooling technologies.
• Hands-on, self-starter with good communication and pressure handling.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Ensure Ecolab/Nalco Water solutions are accurately represented in consultant specifications and bid documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or equivalent)
• Relevant experience in water treatment, industrial systems, or complex technical solutions
• Experience in technical roles with customer exposure (e.g. pre-sales, application engineering, technical support)
• Ability to interpret and translate solution architectures into detailed technical specifications
• Experience in preparing: Technical documentation System diagrams (e.g. P&ID, layouts) Compliance and regulatory documents
• Familiarity with RFP/RFQ processes and related technical responses
• Knowledge of water treatment solutions, industrial systems, or sustainability technologies
• Understanding of relevant technical standards and regulatory requirements
• Proven experience working cross-functionally with: Solution Architects Product Management R&D Service/Field Engineers
• Ability to validate technical feasibility and support the transition from design to execution
• Experience working in matrix and international environments
• Strong capability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, customer-oriented messaging
• Capability to assemble and troubleshoot electronic systems: including, pumps, sensors, and other electro‑mechanical hardware systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of cooling technologies, cold plates, and cooling distribution units is an advantage.
• Self-starter, who is willing to learn and has a ‘hands‑on’ approach
• Good communication skills; with the ability to deliver complex information in an easy-to-understand format

• Works well under pressure
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal) required
