Job summary

GCS is offering a 6-month hybrid role for an Application Architect based in Canary Wharf, London. The candidate will lead the design of on‑premises and Azure cloud software, drive migration strategies, and guide development teams in implementing secure, compliant architectures tied to AI capabilities.

The role requires deep OO programming knowledge, .NET expertise, Agile/ SCRUM experience, and a track record in cloud and on‑premises solutions.

Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of object-oriented programming and the full software development life cycle.
• Strong knowledge of MS .NET Framework environments.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud and on‑premises solutions.
• Extensive experience as software and solutions architect.
• Experience designing high‑level concepts for software solutions.
• Experience in cloud migration planning and execution.
• DevOps and SCRUM experience.
• Knowledge of cloud and AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Create and improve architectural standards for on-premises and Azure cloud software products.
• Develop cloud migration procedures and guidelines.
• Assist in cloud migration projects, assess readiness and dependencies, and optimize for the cloud.
• Create and review blueprints for software products and provide guidance on improving architecture.
• Code mission‑critical parts and perform code reviews.
• Assist in integrating AI technologies to improve existing systems.
• Ensure applications align with compliance and regulatory standards and conduct regular security assessments.
• Create related technical documentation.
• Assist developers with architecture‑related issues and queries.

More:

We are offering a 6-month role with a very likely extension for an Application Architect in a Tier 1 bank. This is a hybrid position based in Canary Wharf, with 3 days per week in our Canary Wharf office. The rate is £600 per day inside IR35.
