Job Description: Sportswear Designer

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Design on Castore Mainline, this role will support the creation of the Castore mainline collection from concept to completion. You will work closely with the product development team and coordinate with suppliers as necessary.

Responsibilities

1. Work with the Head of Design to define and deliver the mainline collection.
2. Conduct research into products, fabrics, colours, knits, prints, and trims.
3. Compile seasonal moodboards, research boards, and reference materials aligned with seasonal briefs and the Castore brand.
4. Create, manage, and finalize tech packs for the collection.
5. Prepare all aspects of the design process for key milestones, meetings, and reviews.
6. Research and identify new sustainable fabrics and production methods to enhance sustainability.

Skills & Qualities

• BA in Fashion, Sportswear, or Textiles.
• Proven design experience in the sportswear apparel industry; experience with premium brands and performance sportswear/activewear is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, reliability, and a hands-on attitude.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of 3D and computational design tools is a plus.
• Interest in sports and fitness.
