Apparel Designer – Menswear

Manchester

Up to £35,000

A leading high street fashion retailer is seeking an experienced Apparel Designer to join their team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the creation of seasonal collections for Own Brand garments, working closely with the Brand Manager to develop designs based on customer profiles, trend analysis, and competitor insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop initial design concepts and translate them into detailed technical CAD specifications.
  • Participate in fit sessions to ensure designs meet aesthetic and functional standards.
  • Collaborate with overseas factories to maintain high-quality production standards.
  • Visit UK stores, festivals, and social events to stay connected with the target customer base.
  • Travel overseas for development and production trips, overseeing design execution and quality.
  • Attend weekly trade meetings and communicate updates to the team.
  • Oversee Junior Designers, providing mentorship, reviewing CAD specifications, and ensuring accuracy in Tech Packs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high street fashion design.
  • Strong ability to mentor and support Junior Designers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
