Job summary

T&K Associates are recruiting an AOI Operator in Ashby-de-la-Zouch for the night shift on a temporary-to-permanent basis. You will program and inspect PCBA boards using AOI equipment, ensuring quality after SMT assembly and against customer specifications.

The role offers training, development potential, weekly pay, and benefits such as pension and free parking. Shift is nights Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday 10pm–6:30am, plus Sunday 18:30–06:30.

• Base IT/programming/software operating skills to be enhanced during training.
• Keen to learn new skills and develop technically.
• Excellent eye for detail and accuracy.
• Enjoy following processes to a high standard.
• Capable of working independently and in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Program and inspect PCBA boards using the AOI machine to identify defects.
• Inspect boards using automated inspection technology to verify quality after SMT assembly.
• Compare boards against programmed inspection criteria and raise any discrepancies.
• Review new builds by visually inspecting boards and documentation against customer requirements and data sheets.
• Create AOI programs from master images in line with work instructions.
• Record all discrepancies and highlight genuine failures in the AOI system.
• Amend AOI programs to reflect customer changes or quality issues.
• Inspect components not automatically inspected and ensure all failures are logged by board serial number.
• Collaborate with team leaders to escalate issues before program creation.
