Job summary

Cancer Research UK is seeking a Group Leader to head the Antibody Discovery Cell Screening Team, based at Babraham Research Campus, Cambridge, with flexibility and a minimum three days per week onsite to support fast‑moving projects.

In this role you will oversee antibody screening, pharmacology assays and candidate triaging, synthesize complex data, and guide developability decisions to advance pre‑clinical drug candidates, reporting to the Associate Director and contributing to the broader

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Significant antibody drug discovery experience including hit identification, lead optimization and candidate delivery.
• Proven leadership in matrixed research environments and building high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Antibody Discovery Cell Screening Team with scientific and strategic leadership.
• Oversee design and optimization of pharmacological assays for efficacy and mechanism of action.
• Define screening and triaging strategies using developability, binding and functional data.
• Drive scientific and technical innovation through new technologies and external collaborations.
• Align with CRUK policies and cross-site stakeholders.
• Represent the team across projects and external scientific communities.
