Job summary
Cancer Research Horizons (CRH) at Cancer Research UK is seeking a Senior Scientist in bioscience for a permanent, lab-based role at Babraham Research Campus, Cambridge. You will contribute to defining critical path biology for small and large molecules, and work with Target Validation and Translational Biology to address portfolio challenges.
The successful candidate will apply extensive cancer biology expertise to biomarker discovery, disease mechanism interrogation, and drug discovery
Qualifications
- PhD in cancer biology or related field with industry experience.
- Strong background in biomarker discovery and pharmacology concepts.
- Experience applying PD biomarkers to drug discovery programs.
Responsibilities
- Design, perform and interpret gene perturbation studies in cancer models.
- Conduct phenotypic analyses including proliferation and apoptosis assays.
- Elucidate drug-target engagement and downstream pathway effects.
- Identify biomarkers to support translation from preclinical to clinical.
- Review literature to identify clinical positioning opportunities.
