A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Antenna Design Engineer to join a cutting-edge antenna development programme within a highly innovative engineering team.
This role supports the design and development of novel antenna systems and reports to the Seeker and Datalink Systems leadership team. You will contribute to complex designs for multi-mode seekers, from electromagnetic modelling and prototyping through to testing and transition into production.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop advanced antennas for use in high-performance seeker systems, using both active and passive sensor technologies.
Carry out electromagnetic modelling and simulation using Ansys HFSS, with data analysis in MATLAB.
Support prototype builds, anechoic chamber testing, and development hardware transition into pre-production.
Develop compact solutions suitable for harsh environments and constrained spaces.
Collaborate across teams including RF, Seeker Systems, EO & IR Sensors, and external suppliers.
The successful candidate will have:
Proven experience in antenna design and development.
Hands-on knowledge of simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS or CST Studio.
Understanding of microwave frequencies, ideally including UHF and X-band or higher.
Strong capability with MATLAB for data analysis and post-processing.
A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical discipline.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within cross-functional teams.
