Job Description:

Edinburgh

Global Semiconductor leader

As an ASIC Design engineer, you will get the opportunity to work in the beautiful City of Edinburgh. Working in the heart of Edinburgh means being surrounded by stunning architecture, rich history, and a vibrant cultural scene every day. The city centre blends old and new effortlessly—from the cobbled streets of the Old Town and the elegance of the Georgian New Town to modern office spaces and co-working hubs.

With countless cafés, restaurants, independent shops, and green spaces like Princes Street Gardens within walking distance, it's easy to balance work with quality downtime. Excellent public transport links, including buses, trams, and Waverley Station, make commuting and connectivity seamless.

The Role

As an experienced ASIC Design engineer, you will join a company that provides a broad range of IP, including CPUs, high-performance DSPs, memory and IO controllers, hardware accelerators, and subsystem solutions, widely adopted across the semiconductor industry and found in billions of chips shipped annually.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and design of reference systems targeting applications such as Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Radar, Automotive, and other high-performance domains.

As an ASIC Design Engineer, you will bring strong experience in IP integration and SoC/compute system implementation. You will collaborate closely with development teams focused on compute and interface IP to build and demonstrate complete solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and debug SoC reference systems.
  • Integrate compute, memory and interface IP in system designs.
  • Analyse IP products and implementation flows.
  • Identify and implement best practices in hardware design and verification to improve efficiency and reliability.

Requirements:

  • BS in Electronic Engineering/Computer Science with 8+ years’ work experience, or MS in EE/CS with 5+ years’ experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in ASIC design AND verification.
  • Must have expertise in some of the following domains: processor design, on-chip communication and interconnects, high-speed interfaces, or chiplets.
  • Expertise in Verilog/System Verilog for coding and verification.
  • Proficiency in RTL design techniques.
  • Experience in using UVM for functional verification of ASIC designs.
  • Experience with FPGA OR emulation will be desirable.

On offer is the opportunity to work for an organisation with an excellent environment, working culture and autonomous approach with a wide range of benefits.

You must be able to work onsite 3 days per week in central Edinburgh.
