Job summary

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust invites an experienced Antenatal Day Services Matron (Band 8a) to lead antenatal clinics, day assessment services and specialist pathways across York and Scarborough. You will spearhead safety, quality and service transformation with regional teams.

You will shape strategy, drive improvements and ensure compassionate, equitable care for women and families while supporting on-call arrangements and workforce development.

Qualifications

• Leading antenatal clinics, day assessment services and specialist pathways, ensuring high standards of care and patient experience.
• Providing strategic and operational leadership across specialist services, including diabetes, maternal medicine, preterm birth and screening.
• Driving quality improvement, patient safety, clinical governance and service transformation using audit, data, incidents and feedback.
• Leading workforce planning, recruitment, development and performance, creating a positive and inclusive culture.
• Managing capacity, demand, patient flow and performance across sites to deliver safe and responsive services.
• Working with multidisciplinary, community, screening and regional teams to strengthen pathways and improve outcomes.
• Supporting policies, guidelines, business cases and improvement initiatives aligned with Trust and national priorities.
• Promoting personalised care, informed choice, equity of access and reduced health inequalities.
