Job summary

algo1 in London is seeking an experienced Android engineer to help build and ship AI-native shopper experiences on our in-store Android app. You will work with product, design, backend and edge AI specialists to create performant, reliable features for live grocery environments.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, on-device intelligence, and close collaboration to push the boundaries of what shoppers can do with AI-enabled Android experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong native Android and Kotlin experience in production.
• Jetpack Compose in production.
• End-to-end ownership of features from problem to launch.
• Experience with AI-enabled development using modern tools.

Responsibilities

• Own shopper-facing Android features end to end from conception to release and iteration.
• Connect edge AI capabilities to the shopper experience and turn ML outputs into useful interactions.
• Improve latency, stability, and lifecycle management on a live device.
• Help establish architecture, patterns and engineering standards for the product.
• Collaborate with product and design to deliver fast, intuitive, personal experiences.
• Monitor released features and resolve issues using data-driven insights.
