Job summary

algo1 is building an AI-native product to redefine the in-store grocery experience. We seek a Full Stack Engineer with frontend focus to collaborate with product, design, mobile, and ML teams to create engaging, real-time web experiences for brands and retailers.

You will design and implement reactive UI components, integrate real-time data flows, and contribute to API and system design as you ship features end-to-end. Join a growing team shaping product and engineering culture in London.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of UX principles and web design fundamentals.
• Expert in Typescript and React.
• Experience with real-time and bi-directional communication protocols and patterns (e.g. WebSockets, SSE).
• Built and deployed services on major cloud providers (Azure, GCP, AWS).
• AI-Native development: rapid iteration with AI tools such as Copilot, Claude or Cursor.

The Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer with Frontend specialism to work closely with product, design, mobile, and machine learning team members to design & build experiences that re-define how brands and retailers serve their shoppers. You'll help help build engaging & intuitive web experiences using highly responsive UI components and real-time data flows.

You will work closely with our Head of B2B Product, James, turning ambitious and sometimes ambiguous product ideas into software that retailers and consumer brands rely on to create, launch, and measure campaigns.

We are looking for people of varying experience levels who are willing to take the lead on delivering features end-to-end. You will have already embraced agentic coding and how it can be used to enhance individual and team productivity.

What You Will Own

• Design and implement reactive, real-time web interfaces that help brands and retailers manage and analyse the in-store experience delivered by our product
• Translate user and business needs into a functional web application that delivers complex, intelligent capabilities through an elegantly simple interface designed for non-technical audiences
• Contribute to API and broader system design & documentation as part of end-to-end delivery of features

Essential Qualifications

• Strong understanding of UX principles and web design fundamentals
• Expert in Typescript and React
• Experience with real-time and bi-directional communication protocols and patterns (eg. WebSockets, SSE)
• Built and deployed services on any major cloud providers' services (Azure, GCP, AWS)
• AI-Native development: Fast iteration & prototyping using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude or Cursor

Nice to Have

• Experience in backend development and event-driven architecture
• Our stack includes python, FastAPI, postgres, Kafka and MQTT
• Worked with IoT or Edge-oriented architectures
• Experience or knowledge in retail POS, inventory, or loyalty systems
