Job summary

Square One Resources seeks an experienced Android Engineer to join a high-profile mobile team in West Sussex, with three days on site. This contract-based role reports into a globally distributed engineering group and focuses on delivering robust Android applications for millions of users.

You will work across the full development life cycle using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVI, REST APIs, Coroutines, Flow and RxJava, collaborating with designers, product owners and QA.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Android development experience.
• Proficient with Kotlin and modern Android tooling.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, MVI and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated testing.

We?re looking for an experienced Android Engineer to join a high-profile mobile engineering team working on applications used by tens of millions of customers across the world.

You'll be working for a globally recognised financial services organisation, helping to develop and enhance mobile applications used by customers every day. This is an opportunity to work on technology at significant scale, while being part of a smaller, collaborative engineering team.

You'll work closely with designers, product owners, QA and other engineers to develop new features, improve existing functionality and solve challenging technical problems.

We?re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with creativity and a genuine interest in delivering an excellent user experience. You'll be encouraged to share ideas, challenge existing approaches and help shape the way the team develops its products.

The Role

As an Android Engineer, You'll be responsible for developing and improving high-quality mobile applications, working across the full development life cycle.

You'll be involved in:

• Building, developing and improving Android applications
• Designing solutions for open-ended and technically challenging problems

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related subject, or equivalent commercial experience, would be beneficial.
