You'll develop and improve high-quality Android applications, collaborating with designers, product owners, QA and other engineers across a globally distributed team, and you'll contribute to clean code, testing, and robust app performance.

Android Engineer

Location: West Sussex - 3 days on site
Contract: Initial 6 months
Rate: £300-£345 per day
IR35: Inside IR35

We?re looking for an experienced Android Engineer to join a high-profile mobile engineering team working on applications used by tens of millions of customers across the world.

You?ll be working for a globally recognised financial services organisation, helping to develop and enhance mobile applications used by customers every day. This is an opportunity to work on technology at significant scale, while being part of a smaller, collaborative engineering team.

You?ll work closely with designers, product owners, QA and other engineers to develop new features, improve existing functionality and solve challenging technical problems.

We?re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with creativity and a genuine interest in delivering an excellent user experience. You?ll be encouraged to share ideas, challenge existing approaches and help shape the way the team develops its products.

The Role

As an Android Engineer, you?ll be responsible for developing and improving high-quality mobile applications, working across the full development lifecycle.

You?ll be involved in:

• Building, developing and improving Android applications
• Designing solutions for open-ended and technically challenging problems
• Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code
• Finding, diagnosing and fixing bugs
• Performance analysis and optimisation

• Collaborating closely with designers, product owners, QA and other engineers
• Integrating applications with backend services and REST APIs

• Contributing ideas and helping the team continuously improve its development practices

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related subject, or equivalent commercial experience, would be beneficial.
