The post holder will work as an Anatomical Pathology Technician in the adult and paediatric mortuaries at MFT, handling receipt and release of deceased patients, assisting pathologists in postmortem examinations, and contributing to on-call arrangements.

Based at Manchester Royal Infirmary, the role includes on-call duties, adherence to HTA guidelines, and collaboration with Bereavement and Coroner services to ensure respectful and accurate mortuary processes.

Competenze

HTA knowledge required.
LIMS experience preferred.
BSI knowledge beneficial.
Level 3/4 RSPH anatomy pathology qualifications or equivalent required.

Mansioni

Assist in standard and high risk postmortem examinations, including specialised techniques.
Assist with release of deceased patients to authorised persons.
Assist with receipt of deceased from hospital and community.
Assist with viewing and identification of deceased.
Perform all aspects of practical mortuary work of varying complexity.
Liaise with the Bereavement Team, Coroner’s Offices and Coroner’s Liaison Officers.
Liaise with other NHS departments and external agencies.
Ensure data accuracy in Mortuary records and electronic systems.
Disposal of tissue and patient samples in HTA guidelines.
