Job description

You will work as a qualified Entry Level Anatomical Pathology Technologist in the Trust Mortuary Services. You will be based at Conquest Hospital mortuary but will be expected to rotate between Conquest and Eastbourne Mortuary Departments.

Responsibilities include:

• Proficient use of Mortuary and Post‑mortem equipment
• Competent in evisceration techniques, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed
• Quality Control and Quality Assurance
• Adherence to HTA guidance and other governing bodies
• Patient care: registration, release, post‑mortems, viewings, and traceability
• Maintaining cleanliness and departmental standards
• Assisting service users and ensuring SOPs and policies are adhered to
• Maintaining relevant CPD
• Maintaining good working relations with other staff and users
• Attending and participating in relevant meetings
• Reporting incidents and issues
• Acting as a Fire warden and highlighting and complying with risks
• Participating in the on‑call rota as required
• Participating in forensic examinations
