Job summary

Funding Circle in London (Hybrid) is seeking a data modelling lead to own the data modelling strategy and governance. You will drive design of features like star schemas and ensure data usability across the platform.

You will work with SQL, Python, Pyspark, dbt, and orchestration tools while mentoring teammates and co-owning the backlog with the Engineering Manager. London-based hybrid role with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in SQL, Python, Pyspark for data processing.
• Proficient with dbt; exposure to Airflow preferred.
• Strong ER and dimensional modelling expertise.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery.
• Familiar with Tableau; translate business needs to technical requirements.
• Able to architect AI solutions and scalable data models.

Responsibilities

• Owns data modelling strategy, sets standards for modelling, transformations and governance.
• Leads design and implementation of features like star schema to optimise data usability.
• Sets standards on SQL, dbt, Python, Pyspark for business problems.
• Becomes expert in the business area the team works on, bridging business and tech.
• Delivers high quality code, mentors team, builds scalable models.
• Co-owns backlog with Engineering Manager and helps break down technical requirements.
