Job summary

Funding Circle in London is seeking an Analytics Engineer to help shape data foundations for high growth areas. You will build and own dbt models, collaborate with Analysts and Data Scientists, and push to a world-class data platform.

You'll balance technical excellence with business needs, architect AI-enabled solutions, and mentor others across the company as we scale data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills with efficient, well-structured queries.
• Hands-on DBT experience, building modular data models.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modelling.
• Familiar with AWS data services (S3, Athena, Glue).
• Experience with Airflow for scheduling workflows.
• Experience with data lakes or modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
• A pragmatic problem solver balancing technical excellence with business needs.
• Able to architect AI solutions and safe automated systems.
• Mentor others to move from basic AI usage to advanced systems.

Responsibilities

• Building and owning high quality dbt models, well-documented and tested.
• Collaborating with Analysts and Data Scientists to drive insights.
• Champion best practices for data modelling, transformation, governance.
• Consult on evolving data platform, advising tooling and infra.
