Job summary

Axle Energy is seeking an Analytics Engineer to own and optimise daily UK energy trading and asset operations, building data pipelines and understanding flexibility markets. You will work cross-functionally with engineering and commercial teams, analyzing MW, kWh, and £, and identifying revenue risks while improving settlements and registrations.

Hybrid work with a dog-friendly office near Farringdon; total compensation £75k-£200k plus equity.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python skills for analysing data and automating processes.
• Strong analytical skills: you'll be speaking MW, kWh, and £ every day.
• A deep-seated motivation to combat climate change.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

• Owning operations for UK energy trading processes (daily trading, settlements).
• Debugging complex edge cases across trading, asset registration and settlement processes.
• Identifying risks to revenue and delivery and proactively mitigate them.
• Communicating insights and actions clearly to engineering and commercial teams.
• Building and maintaining relationships with DSOs and UK market regulators.
