Job summary

BOC Limited, a Linde company, is seeking an Analytical Services Department Manager to lead a multi-site laboratory team at Brinsworth, UK. You will drive method development, resource planning and equipment optimization while ensuring ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 and GMP compliance.

The role entails liaising with stakeholders, performing audits, and delivering expert technical support to internal and customer sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or equivalent scientific discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' technical industry experience in gas analysis or measurement science.
• Hands-on expertise with GC-FID, GC-TCD, GC-MS and FTIR.
• Experience leading technical teams of 2 or more.
• Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 and GMP.
• Clear communication with internal and external stakeholders; NEBOSH is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Analytical Services Department to ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality lab service.
• Manage operations for on-site and off-site analytical requirements per SLA.
• Develop analytical methods, plan resources, and optimize equipment.
• Oversee accredited testing activities and quality systems including ISO 17025/9001.
• Ensure GMP compliance and keep EP protocol updates in view.
• Represent the lab in audits, assessments and stakeholder interactions.
• Provide expert technical support and investigations for internal and customer sites.
• Drive continuous improvement and staff development across the department.
• As ASD Duty Holder and Brinsworth tenant, assist with site-wide functions.
