BOC Limited, a Linde company, seeks a Deputy Head of Laboratory to lead the Analytical Services Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality laboratory service across on-site and off-site requirements.

You will oversee accredited testing activities, maintain ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001, and ensure GMP compliance while guiding continuous improvement and staff development within the Brinsworth site.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of technical industry experience in gas analysis or measurement science.
• Hands-on expertise with GC-FID, GC-TCD, GC-MS and FTIR.
• Experience leading technical teams of 2 or more and developing people.
• Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 and GMP quality systems.
• Clear, confident communication with a wide range of stakeholders; NEBOSH an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Analytical Services Department, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality laboratory service.
• Manage operations for on-site and off-site analytical requirements in line with business SLA.
• Drive development of analytical methods, resource planning, and optimization of laboratory equipment.
• Deputy head of laboratory, oversee accredited testing activities and maintain ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001.
• Ensure laboratory activities conform to GMP and EP protocol changes.
• Represent the laboratory during assessments, audits, and stakeholder interactions, ensuring compliance.
• Provide expert technical support and investigations for internal teams and customer sites.
• Champion continuous improvement, staff development, and operational excellence across the department.
• ASD Duty Holder and Tenant – Brinsworth site, assist with direct site-wide functions.
