We are currently partnered with a prominent UK Family Office to recruit an Real Estate Analyst for their expanding London based team. With a track record spanning over 50 years, our client is an active real estate investor across the UK, Europe and US. Their existing portfolio includes a wide range of asset classes including offices, retail, industrial, living/residential, hospitality and leisure.

THE PERSON

The role will provide input and support to the Acquisitions Team on new deals and the Portfolio Team on existing projects.The successful candidate will work with the Acquisitions Directors and Investment Managers on investments across all sectors and countries with a focus on underwriting, due diligence and research.

To achieve this, we are looking for the following skills / attributes:

Enthusiasm for building a career in small professional team managing a large asset base
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Organised individual with strong record keeping skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise issues as they arise
Confidence of working within a broader team but also with the ability to work alone proactively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting the team with underwriting, due diligence and research activity, this position involves working on live transactions. Day to day the Analyst will be required to:

Create new and amend existing financial real estate models in Excel
Support the transaction and development process by assisting the team with investment committee recommendations and due diligence activities
Create presentations for internal review and board meetings
Research projects with a view to developing insightful analysis
Attend and prepare data and presentations for deal and project meetings
Create written updates on investment progress
Assist with analysis of the wider real estate portfolio.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

High proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Building and adapting financial real estate models
Good understanding of metrics and terminology used in real estate investment
Research / fact finding through both the internet and in person.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Ideally the individual will have 1-3 years’ employment experience in the real estate team of a property services company (agency/valuation/investment management), private property investor or UK institution. Other real estate or financial backgrounds would also be appropriate.
