Job description

The Real Estate Analyst role is a central role providing the Director or Real Estate Proposition, the Proposition Team and the wider Real Estate business insight and analysis to support decision making and the unearthing of new opportunities.

Analysis is produced from internal MI and data, market research and reports alongside seminars and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality analysis that answers specific questions as necessary alongside feeding in to ongoing strategic projects.
  • Promptly respond to ad-hoc requests for analysis from various internal stakeholders including senior management and ExCo.
  • Horizon scanning for new opportunities and a deep understanding of changes in the Real Estate market to present back to the wider business.
  • Weekly updating and sharing of competitor analysis documents across the Real Estate product suite.
  • Support the production of forecasting commercial performance across our core KPIs.
  • Maintain relationships with external agencies, including property insight providers and sourcing systems, to ensure the Bank maximises the value of these relationships.
  • Attendance at Bank Committees or meetings as required, including at a senior level, to support the Director of Real Estate Proposition.
  • Manage the pricing inbox to calculate financial returns for bespoke loan pricing opportunities submitted by our sales team.
The Person
  • Property market experience with an understanding of how the property investment business operates.
  • A working knowledge of the specialist property finance market, competitor offerings, broker distribution models, underwriting processes and risk is preferred.
  • Able to carry out independent research, seeking out a variety of data sources, and summarise back to the business with clear and concise written communication skills.
  • Ability to present data in a clear and compelling way helping others to understand the insight it is giving them.
  • Ability to work with SQL databased coupled with strong Excel skills.

  • Enjoys working within a team environment but also able to complete work independently as required.
  • Able to use pragmatic judgement to balance risk and business value to reach decisions which are well informed and actionable.
  • Curious mindset that enjoys interrogating information to uncover opportunities for change and growth.
  • Drive and determination to work at pace, meeting challenging deadlines, finding solutions to complex problems and able to encourage colleagues, often in other teams with competing priorities, to participate in a shared outcome.
  • Time management skills to prioritise work that will have the most impact on the core objectives.
