Analyst - Police Staff - Counter Terrorism Policing WM

This team is responsible for all strands of intelligence analysis within local, regional, national, and international contexts. You’ll be involved in acquiring, evaluating, analyzing, and assessing secret intelligence to support our priorities.

About the Role

The team handles all aspects of intelligence analysis across various levels. You’ll build intelligence pictures, identify risks and offenders, collate and validate intelligence, evaluate sources, and interpret data using analytical techniques. Handling secret information requires adherence to GPMS and other guidelines. You’ll collaborate with colleagues to gather additional information and provide strategic analysis on terrorism and violent extremism.

Responsibilities

• Providing analytical products that interpret intelligence and guide further intelligence gathering.
• Identifying risks, threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities supporting national security.
• Providing evidential analysis and expert court testimony to support prosecutions.
• Creating horizon scanning products to interpret international events and their local impact.
• Developing strategic analyses to inform decision-making by senior police officers and intelligence managers.
• Delivering presentations and briefings at various levels.
• Liaising with national agencies, including the Army, police forces, local authorities, and other specialists.
