Job description

Join us as an Analyst Data Operations at Barclays, to implement data quality process and procedures, ensuring that data is reliable and trustworthy, then extract actionable insights from it to help the organisation improve its operation and optimise resources.

To be successful as Analyst Data Operations, you should have:

  • Strong data analysis skillset with experience of having worked on data transformation and data remediation projects.

  • Robust understanding of Operational Risk and Control guidelines and practices.

  • Previous experience in managing multiple initiatives' globally.

  • Experienced in managing Stakeholders in a cross-domain environment.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Good understanding of Client/Counterparty data and Settlement Instructions.

  • High level of understanding of the trade lifecycle across all asset classes.

  • Previous experience managing high profile regulatory audits and internal control assessments.

  • Strong experience in an Operational environment.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, with knowledge of data analysis tools like SQL, Excel or Tableau.

This role is based in Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To implement data quality process and procedures, ensuring that data is reliable and trustworthy, then extract actionable insights from it to help the organisation improve its operation, and optimise resources.

Accountabilities

  • Investigation and analysis of data issues related to quality, lineage, controls, and authoritative source identification.
  • Execution of data cleansing and transformation tasks to prepare data for analysis.
  • Designing and building data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.
  • Development and application of advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI, to solve complex business problems.
  • Documentation of data quality findings and recommendations for improvement.

  • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.
