Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an Analyst to join the Corporate Insight team within the Policy, Performance and Intelligence service, delivering high-quality analysis, research and intelligence to support decision-making across the council.

The role involves transforming data into meaningful insights, supporting evidence-based policy and strategy development, and contributing to the Insight platform and key datasets, including ACORN segmentation.

About the role

We are looking to recruit an Analyst to join the Corporate Insight team within the Policy, Performance and Intelligence service to help deliver high-quality analysis, research and intelligence that supports decision-making across Cambridgeshire County Council.

The team provides specialist analytical support across a range of corporate functions, with particular responsibility for workforce insight, customer feedback reporting, consultation and engagement analysis, and the management of strategic intelligence resources. We work with services across the Council to help them better understand the needs, experiences and outcomes of residents, customers and employees.

The successful candidate will play an important role in transforming data into meaningful insight, helping colleagues use evidence to improve services and inform policy and strategy development. The role also supports the ongoing development and management of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Insight platform and the use of key corporate datasets, including ACORN segmentation data.

Please note: The application period for this role closes on 29th August 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be sent a timed analysis test to be carried out on the 3rd September . The test will require the use of excel or similar package. For those that are successful we expect the interviews to take place week commencing 7 th September.

What will you be doing?

As an Analyst, you will be responsible for providing data, insight and analysis to the service. Your role will include:

• Analysing data and producing insight reports and benchmarking information
• Extracting and cleaning data and combining it with other datasets
• Working on projects to provide robust, timely and accurate analysis
• Working closely with the services and partners to understand their needs
• Presenting analysis, insights and findings to a variety of stakeholders
• Visualising data to help non-data users to understand key insights

About you

Are you ambitious, innovative, good with data and passionate with an enthusiasm for supporting evidence led decision making? If so, we may have the role you ' ve been searching for!

We are looking for an individual with strong analytical skills, who has a sound understanding of a range of data sources and can practically apply those skills to embed new data solutions. You will have experience of analysing a range of data and producing outputs for wider use, , as well as excellent organisational skills.

Good communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for this role, as the post holder will be required to present complex and sometimes technical information in appropriate forms for a wide range of internal and external audiences.

You will have relevant previous experience in a similar field. High level of competence with Power BI, data analysis, and specialist data analytical software are also desirable. The successful applicant will be well supported to further develop their subject knowledge and technical skillset.
