Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) in Coventry is inviting two Band 5 Anaesthetic Practitioners/ODPs to join our Anaesthetics Theatres Team. One post for day department and one for Nights emergency cover.

You will work with a multi-professional team, providing peri-operative care and supporting patients through procedures with excellent training and development opportunities. The Trust values ongoing CPD, clinical governance, and a culture of learning.

Qualifications

• Current HCPC / RN registration with anaesthetic qualification.
• Post-preceptorship experience in the UK (if NMC registered).
• Evidence of CPD and ongoing professional development.
• Degree in a relevant subject or willingness to undertake.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate peri-operative care.
• Respect patient preferences, rights and choices before/during surgery.
• Maintain health, safety and infection control in theatres.
• Prepare, monitor and administer prescribed drugs per Trust policy.
• Prepare materials/equipment for procedures and address faults.
• Support and care for patients during procedures and emergencies.
• Receive, transfer and position patients for procedures and maintain records.
