Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry is seeking two Band 5 Anaesthetic Practitioners/ODPs for our Anaesthetics Theatres Team. One ODP will join the day department and the other will join the permanent Nights emergency Team.

We offer comprehensive training and strong support from Theatre Clinical Educators. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals with Anaesthetic skills and excellent communication, who are team players and able to help us sustain

Qualifications

• Have Anaesthetic skills and be able to provide peri-operative care.
• Excellent team player with good communication.
• Willing to train in all aspects of our service.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills.
• Acknowledge personal preferences, rights and choice of patients undergoing surgery.
• Maintain health, safety, and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures.
• Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies.
• Prepare, monitor, and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures, take action if found to be faulty.
• Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures.
• Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies.
• Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate & legible records of care.

Our Anaesthetics Theatres Team has an exciting opportunity for 2 Band 5 Anaesthetic Practitioners / ODPs. 1 ODP for our day department and 1 ODP for our permanent Nights emergency Team. We are looking for highly enthusiastic, committed, and dynamic individuals with Anaesthetic skills who can provide optimum quality of care to patients, offering support to the multi-professional team. The successful candidates are expected to have good communication skills and be excellent team players to support the team in achieving high standards of patient care within theatres at all times. In return we offer comprehensive training in all aspects of our service. In addition, we have a dedicated team of Theatre Clinical Educators who will support and guide you through the excellent range of opportunities that UHCW NHS Trust has to offer.
