Qualifications

• Evidence of CPD for experienced band 5 nurses/ODPs.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to meet patients' needs in accordance with local/national standards.
• Develop and continually update clinical skills in line with local and national standards and recommendations.
• Demonstrate competent practice by achieving a nationally recognised qualification (ODP, Anaesthetic).
• Adhere to policies and procedures and adapt to evidence-based changes to practice.
• Act as a patient safety champion maintaining a safety focus.
• Ensure compliance with the Trust safety agenda and promote best practice.
• Ensure the environment is safe, well equipped and compliant with hygiene standards.
• Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety following health and safety legislation and guidelines.
• Communicate information to the multidisciplinary team and external organisations to ensure seamless care.
• Participate in own continuing professional development and mentor junior staff and students.
• Create a positive learning environment, offering support and guidance to all learners.
• Coordinate student learning opportunities and provide pastoral support.
• Maintain and develop own professional competence and extend knowledge within the scope of the role.
