Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a skilled anaesthetist to join the department for a role combining anaesthesia and critical care with resident on-call duties. The post involves daytime ITU and delivery suite responsibilities, plus participation on elective and emergency theatre lists.

The appointment offers a 12 PA per week contract (10 DCC, 2 SPA) with potential rotation on other resident rosters and avenues for further training or Article 14 pathways in a supportive NHS

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration or equivalent for practice in the UK.
• Completion of Foundation training and ALS provider.
• Four years of postgraduate training with anaesthesia and ITU exposure.
• RCOA obstetric competency or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provision of a safe and efficient anaesthetic and critical care service.
• Resident on-call within a designated specialty doctor rota; may rotate to other on-call duties.
• Daytime work includes delivery suite, ITU duties, and elective/emergency theatres lists.
• Work on lists with a consultant or with sole responsibility for a list.
• 12 programmed activities per week: 10 DCC and 2 SPA (on appointment).
• Commitment to training and potential Article 14 pathways.
